Fishing on Charleston Lake
Charleston Lake is a great fishing destination and offers countless fishing opportunities. Visitors to the lake will find miles of beautiful shore lines and large water bodies. The unique collection of bays, islands and shoreline provides an endless array of fishing opportunities. From the deep holding lake trout to weedy bays the large mouth bass and northern pike can be found. Charleston Lake in Eastern Ontario offers a lifetime of fishing possibilities.
Fishing Season Openings 2008
- Northern Pike - May 10, 2008 till December 31st 2008.
- Large and Small Mouth Bass - June 28, 2008 till November 30 2008.
- Lake Trout - May 31 2008, till September 8th 2008.
- Perch, crappie and bluegill are open year round.
Important Information for Fishing in Ontario
It is up to you to ensure you are allowed to fish in Ontario. Make sure you have a valid fishing license and adhere to all the rules enforced by the Ministry of the Environment in Ontario. Also the Ontario Federation of Anglers & Hunters is a great resource for information about fishing in Ontario.
Boating on Charleston Lake

Charleston lake is a great lake for boating and is very safe as almost all of the shoals are marked for visitors to the lake. With over 100 islands and 100 miles of shoreline you will have lots to see. Please keep in mind safe boating habits and make sure you understand all the rules in Ontario as this lake is regularly patrolled by police. Check out Transport Canada's web site for all the latest information and make sure you're prepared.
